From Hobbits to Hogwarts: Religion, Literature and the British Imagination
This course is ideal for students who see literary art as an inroads to theological and philosophical insight. Though weighted toward texts inspired by Christianity, the course will also integrate topics and concerns from other faith traditions as well. In addition, the course will devote some space to exploring debates among theism, agnosticism and atheism that take place in literary settings, which is a vital Oxford tradition.
The course is ideal for English, Theology, and Philosophy majors; it is also of appeal for History majors interested in British culture and history and those budding anthropologists and sociologists who are interested in the cultural signatures of artistic production. Generally, the course, because of its interdisciplinary nature, will appeal to all Liberal Artists.

2. It fulfills a Writing Intensive Requirement
3. It is a Catholic Studies elective

During this traveling course students will stay in shared accommodations at St. Hilda’s college, Oxford University. All meals will be provided during this program.

Program fee of $1,900 includes:
- Three meals per day
